Our Community Priorities
1. To develop youth/child activities (to prevent anti-social behaviour)
2. To improve the success of the Community Centre
3. To deal with environmental issues
These were developed to guide Policing in our Community and are reviewed regularly.
We are supporting local initiatives by the Police, such as Roll Call and Video Matching.
With the Police and other agencies such as West Berkshire Council, we are looking beyond Policing - trying to make sure that the whole process and thinking is connected and supporting Residents needs and aspirations.
Matters we have addressed
These are other matters we have recently addressed, they are all of importance and the list is not in any particular order. In all of these matters our local councillors (both District and Town) have provided drive and support.
- Improved the environment around Avon Way shops
- Reduced the noise from the ball court at the Community Centre
- Secured a Community Notice Board at ALL shopping areas in Ward
- Had traffic calming in Cromwell Road reviewed
- Maintained and supported estate inspections to maintain our environment
- Kiln Road repaired and roads in estate re surfaced
- Pushed authorities for better Security camera provision
This is in addition to contributing to the general debate about local matters at our regular meetings where representatives from:-
- Thames Valley Police
- Sovereign Housing Association
- West Berkshire Council
- Newbury Town Council
- Neighbourhood Watch
together with our local Councillors attend on a regular basis
